WHICH TRADING SYSTEM IS BEST FOR A BEGINNER?
Hi Roger and forum users,
I am a bit confused which product to start off with as they all seem very good.
Really I have not been able to master trend following yet as I keep jumping on and off instead of following signals made by crossing lines, so maybe its the problem I need to work on first of all. It seems very difficult to follow a trading system because my emotions get in the way.
I do make some good trades sometimes but my exits are not always perfect so I could make more money than I do.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
Thanks

You might consider working on the psychology of it all as it is one of the biggest problems, if your system is good in practice and in backtest but the problem is with your inability to follow it then you can easily see where the shortcoming is.
Trading Tribe is a worldwide organisation that was started by Ed Seykota and uses procedures similar to gamblers anonymous where there is a talker, a receiver, and a bunch of other sitting around in a circle. The talker talks about his issues and the others sit around and listen, the receivers job is to keep the talker focused on the right issue.
Surprising as it seems, one can soon discover what the root cause is of the jumping on and off trading systems signals and correct it.
I am the leader of the Forest gate tribe if you are in that area you are welcome to join us.
Before going through the process I had a light speed reaction of reducing the size of lots of trades in my portfolio to reduce the depths of my drawdowns, this did help make the draw downs smaller but in the long run it made less money.
I figured out ( during a tribe session ) that it was due to something from my childhood, and once I got this point in my subconscious mind cleared I never ever did it again.
In fact I really stay completely relaxed during drawdowns now and always remember very clearly what I learned.
