PLA DYNAMICAL GOLD ON TRADESTATION
<
Hi Roger,
I am assuming that since the PLA Gold for Tradestation comes as a strategy too, that it can be run in fully automated trading mode.
Correct assumption?
And can it run on multiple charts at the same time?
And if so, about how many charts? (2.8 gig i7 16 gig ram here)
And is it possible to use this in a strategy where I can set trading times?
Thanks,

Thank you for your excellent question
1. Yes it can be automated
2. Yes multiple charts can be used at once
3. How many charts at once is a good question
The answer is highly dependent on many factors such as the time frame of chart, how many ticks gush into your computer per second, the amount of bars loaded and the cleanliness of your RAM.
If it was daily data with 150 days loaded I expect 100 charts without any problem
If you are using highly resource hungry symbols with tick charts of 500 ticks per bar this would use a lot of CPU time so I would guess about 10 - 20 charts as a safe amount
Something more normal like hourly bars with 150 bars, probably about 50 charts.
I would suggest the best thing is to load a lots of charts in your chosen time frame ( WITHOUT DOING AUTO TRADING ) until you notice your pc begins to hangs or freeze and then reduce by 20% what you loaded up and retest.
If you find an entire day runs without issue then you can introduce your autotrading.
You can set trading times by making your own code that calls from the PLA Dynamical function ( full documentation is provided how to call the PLA Dynamical GOLD function )
Hope this helps
Regards
Roger
